Legendary Chalks Flying service, a Miami landmark since 1919. Proudly promoting itself as “the world’s oldest airline”, it flew scheduled routes to Paradise Island, Bimini, Fort Lauderdale, as well for a time to Key West. Flying Chalks was an adventure, nearly clipping sailboat masts as it would sit down in the ocean before taking to the ramp. Being a symbol of Miami a Chalks Seaplane would be featured in the opening credits of Miami Vice as well as several movies.
